Odd Jobs

The last two days have been a chance to catch up on a lot of little things that have been neglected in the last week. Got the grocery order finished (we use Peapod), do two weeks worth of laundry, have the roomba vacuum, wash some dishes, along with a million other little things. I've even managed to find time for the kids to have play dates with some of there friends and help them get together things for Mothers Day. Of course soccer has to encroach too, fields to open and close, games to plan for. As lazy as I can be most of the time, I amaze myself about how much I can accomplish when I am motivated. Of course now matter how much I do get done there still seems to be a huge list of things that don't get done. Oh well, life has never been boring!

I hope to be able to find some time tonight to create another podcast. Earlier this week I listed it on the various directories online in hopes of getting noticed. It seems to have attracted a few more listeners, but I'll probably need to work a lot harder to keep them and expand that base. I just wish I would get some kind of feedback about either that or these blogs. I know people are reading/listening to them, but I don't know what they like/dislike about it.

Well, I don't have time to write any more right now, still things to finish.

Until next time,

Hi,
I like your blog, it is very tidy.. I also enjoyed your Podcast!! BTW what is the actual link to the podcast itself? I will be sure to link it up next time.

Another idea for ya, is to post a promo on openpodcast.org, there are thousands of subscribers to that podcast feed..

I'm a little freak, and a little geek, all rolled into one, so i am a one man/woman show.. :)

Thanks for the comments. I seemed to get two emailed comments from you but can only find one here. Odd...

I'll try to answer as many of your questions as I can here.

The blog for my podcast is http://oagpodcast.blogspot.com

The feedburner feed to subscribe to it is, http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/wdII

I haven't created any promos yet, because I don't feel I have done my best work yet. Once I really get the hang of this and get a few more under my belt, I will likely pursue that a lot more.

As for your comments about how I create my podcast. Yes I use a mixer and omnidirectional mic from Radio Shack feeding the line in of my SoundBlaster card. I too had a very noisy mic connection, but the line in is clear! Go figure! I use Audacity to record the cast, with the exception of the last one which was recorded on my laptop using the CastBlaster beta. Audacity is very feature rich which could be a blessing or a curse, my suggestion is to play around with it a lot before you publish a podcast with it. The only problem I still have (and I know I am not alone ) is when using Skype. The only way I have been able to successfully do it is to have Skype run on the same machine that is recording the podcast. Unfortunately this causes a huge echo to the person on the other end of the call, unless you mute yourself in Skype when you are not speaking.

If you have other questions feel free to contact me at yourownpersonalgeek#gmail.com
